Jumbo is a globally recognized brand of bouillon cubes and seasonings, particularly prominent in Africa and the Middle East. Originally launched over 40 years ago, the brand was a cornerstone of the Spanish food group Gallina Blanca. It is easily identifiable by its vibrant yellow packaging and various animal logos corresponding to flavor profiles; the ram or sheep logo seen here signifies mutton or lamb flavor, often tailored for Islamic markets with Halal certification.
Today, Jumbo is a lead brand under GBfoods, a multinational food company based in Spain. In 2017, GBfoods expanded its African operations by creating a joint venture with Helios Investment Partners, acquiring several key assets to form a pan-African food giant. While the brand has its roots and headquarters in Spain, manufacturing takes place in several strategic locations including Spain, Algeria, Nigeria, and Ghana to serve its massive consumer base across more than 30 countries.
