The company was founded by Luigi Musetti in 1934 in the heart of Piacenza, Italy, originally as a small shop known as 'La Casa del Caffè'. Over the decades, it evolved from a local artisanal roasting workshop into a globally recognized brand synonymous with authentic Italian espresso culture.

Today, the brand's production is centralized in its modern facility in Pontenure, Piacenza, which was established in 2003. This site houses advanced roasting technology and the Musetti Coffee Academy, where baristas from around the world are trained. The brand remains deeply rooted in its Italian heritage, maintaining strict quality controls and several international certifications for its blends.

Caffè Musetti continues to be a family-owned enterprise, led by the third generation of the Musetti family. It remains an independent entity, Caffè Musetti S.p.A., and has recently expanded its own portfolio by acquiring other heritage brands like Caffè Bonomi to strengthen its position in the premium coffee market.
