Gmundner Keramik is a premier Austrian brand with a heritage dating back to 1492. Based in the town of Gmunden on Lake Traunsee, the company is legendary for its 'flamed' (geflammt) pattern, a technique that is now recognized as part of Austria's intangible cultural heritage. The brand transitioned through several hands over the centuries, most notably being led by the Hohenberg and von Moy families in the modern era.

Today, Gmundner Keramik remains a symbol of Austrian craftsmanship and is still produced entirely on-site in Gmunden. Since August 2018, the company has been owned by the Salzburg-born entrepreneur Markus Friesacher. Every piece is handmade and hand-painted, ensuring that each item is unique. The brand maintains its market leadership in Austria and exports its high-quality ceramic products worldwide.
