Lenco is a historic brand synonymous with turntable innovation and high-fidelity audio. Founded in 1946 in Burgdorf, Switzerland, by Fritz and Marie Laeng, the brand's name is an amalgam of their surname. Lenco became globally famous in the 1960s and 70s for its precision-engineered idler-drive turntables, such as the legendary L75, which are still highly prized by audiophiles today.
While the original Swiss company faced financial difficulties in the late 1970s, the brand was later revitalized under Dutch ownership. Since 2015, Lenco has been owned by the Dutch group Commaxx International NV. Today, the brand offers a wide variety of 'smart choice' electronics, including modern Bluetooth turntables, internet radios, and portable audio players. While rooted in Swiss precision, modern production is distributed across several locations, including manufacturing facilities in Asia and Europe, to maintain a balance between nostalgic design and affordable technology.
