Öhlins suspension systems

Öhlins Racing AB is an iconic Swedish brand specializing in high-performance suspension technology for motorcycles, automobiles, and mountain bikes. Founded in 1976 by Kenth Öhlin in his father's workshop in Upplands Väsby, Sweden, the company has grown from a local racing specialist into a global leader in the motorsport and premium automotive sectors. Its products, including shock absorbers, front forks, and steering dampers, are developed through rigorous involvement in professional racing series such as MotoGP and Formula 1.

Historically, the brand has seen several ownership changes. It was 50% owned by Yamaha Motor Company from 1986 until 2007, when the founder reclaimed a majority stake. In late 2018, the American automotive giant Tenneco acquired a majority share. Most recently, in a landmark deal completed in early 2025, the Italian high-performance braking systems manufacturer Brembo S.p.A. acquired Öhlins for $405 million, integrating it into their global portfolio. Today, Öhlins maintains its core research and production operations in Sweden, with additional manufacturing facilities in Thailand to support its global distribution network.
