Karamalz Classic malzdrink

Karamalz is a prominent German non-alcoholic malt beverage, widely recognized for its distinctive caramel flavor and nutritional profile. The brand was originally launched in 1955 by the Henninger Brewery (Henninger Bräu) in Frankfurt, Germany. Over the decades, it established itself as a leading choice for families, athletes, and health-conscious consumers due to its composition of natural ingredients like barley malt and hops, adhering to the German Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot).

In the early 2000s, ownership of the Karamalz brand transitioned to the Eichbaum Brewery (Privatbrauerei Eichbaum) in Mannheim. Under Eichbaum, the brand expanded its reach and variety. However, as of late 2025, a significant change in ownership occurred. The Veltins Brewery (Brauerei C. & A. Veltins), a major national brewery based in Meschede-Grevenstein, acquired the trademark rights and production responsibilities for Karamalz.

Starting from late 2025 and moving into 2026, manufacturing is being transitioned to Veltins' facilities in the Sauerland region of Germany. The acquisition represents a strategic shift in the German malt beverage market, as Veltins aims to leverage its extensive distribution network to further grow the Karamalz brand nationally and internationally.
