Caffo is an iconic Italian spirits brand most famous for its 'Vecchio Amaro del Capo,' a traditional herbal liqueur. The brand's history began in the late 19th century when Giuseppe Caffo started distilling grape pomace on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. In 1915, he officially established the family business by acquiring a distillery in Santa Venerina. Over four generations, the family expanded its operations and relocated its main production hub to Limbadi, Calabria, a region chosen for its abundant agricultural resources and aromatic herbs.

Today, the brand is managed by Gruppo Caffo 1915, a family-owned holding company led by Giuseppe 'Pippo' Caffo and his son Sebastiano. The group has grown significantly through the acquisition of other historic marks, including Borsci S. Marzano, Petrus Boonekamp, and Ferro China Bisleri. Manufacturing remains primarily localized in Italy, with key facilities in Calabria for liqueurs, Friuli for grappa (Mangilli), and Liguria for other spirits, maintaining a vertically integrated supply chain where many botanicals are grown on company-owned estates.
