Bellroy is a prominent Australian accessories brand that has gained a global reputation for its minimalist and functional 'carry' goods. Founded in 2009 by designers Andrew Fallshaw and Hadrien Monloup, along with engineers Lina Calabria and Matthew Fallshaw, the brand famously started around a kitchen table in Bells Beach, Victoria. Their mission was to eliminate 'pocket bulge' by re-engineering the traditional wallet into a slimmer, more efficient form. The brand name itself is a portmanteau of its two founding locations: Bells Beach and the Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy.

While the design and prototyping process remains centered at their headquarters in Australia, Bellroy utilizes a global manufacturing network to produce its extensive range. According to company disclosures, their products are primarily manufactured in China, India, and the Philippines. Each region is chosen for specific technical expertise; for instance, many of their bags are crafted in the Philippines, while leather wallets are often produced in India and tech accessories in China.

Bellroy remains a privately held company, though it received a significant growth equity investment from the New York-based firm Silas Capital in 2019. Despite this external funding, the original founders continue to lead the company. As a certified B Corporation since 2015, Bellroy is recognized for its commitment to environmental and social responsibility, sourcing leather from gold-rated tanneries and utilizing recycled materials for its fabric-based products.
