Beaufort Lager is a prominent beer brand with deep roots in Africa. It was first introduced in Cameroon in 1952 and has since grown to become one of the most recognizable lager brands across Francophone Africa. The beer is characterized as a light, crisp pale lager with a modest alcohol content (typically around 4.5% to 5.0%), designed for easy drinking in warm climates.

The brand is manufactured in various African countries through local subsidiaries and breweries affiliated with its parent organization. Key production sites include Cameroon, Burkina Faso (via Brakina), Togo (via Brasserie BB Lomé), Mali, Ivory Coast, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its production strategy relies on regional brewing hubs to serve localized markets.

Since 1990, Beaufort has been owned by the Groupe Castel, a major French beverage conglomerate. The brand was acquired when Castel purchased the Brasseries du Cameroun. Today, Beaufort remains a flagship product for Castel's African beer portfolio, often marketed toward a modern, cosmopolitan demographic.
