Bavaroise is a prominent brand of beer primarily produced in Morocco. Despite its name, which evokes German brewing traditions, the product is a staple of the Moroccan beverage market. It is manufactured by the Société des Boissons du Maroc (formerly known as Brasseries du Maroc), founded in 1919 in Casablanca.
The brand has changed ownership hands over the years alongside its parent company. For decades, it was part of the Castel Group, a massive French beverage conglomerate. However, in more recent years, particularly leading into the 2020s, the Société des Boissons du Maroc has had operational and ownership ties with Heineken N.V., reflecting the global consolidation of the brewing industry. The beer itself is a European-style pale lager, or Pilsner, designed to offer a refreshing taste profile suited for warmer climates.
