Volksbank Alto Adige, officially known as Banca Popolare dell'Alto Adige S.p.A. (Südtiroler Volksbank AG), is a prominent regional bank headquartered in Bolzano, Italy. Its origins date back to 1886 with the founding of a cooperative bank in Merano. The modern entity was established through a series of tactical mergers, most notably in 1992 between the Volksbank banks of Bolzano and Bressanone, and later in 2015 with Banca Popolare di Marostica.

Historically a cooperative bank, the institution underwent a significant transformation in December 2016, becoming a Joint Stock Company (Società per Azioni) in response to Italian banking reforms for larger cooperative banks. As of 2026, the bank remains an independent regional powerhouse, serving approximately 280,000 customers across Northern Italy, including the provinces of South Tyrol, Trentino, Veneto, and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Ownership is distributed among approximately 60,000 shareholders, reflecting its heritage as a 'People's Bank' while operating under modern commercial corporate governance structures.
