Founded in 1994 by entrepreneur Damian Mereu in Onești, Bacău county, the company started as a small local factory and grew to become the market leader in Romania for several snack categories, including Petit Beurre biscuits and salt crackers.

All Croco products are manufactured in the company's modern production facility in Onești, Romania. The factory has undergone significant expansion over the years, including multi-million euro investments in production and packaging lines to handle its growing output.

Today, Croco remains an independent Romanian business owned by its founder through Croco SRL. The brand has a strong international presence, exporting its snack range to over 50 countries across five continents, including major markets in Europe, Asia, and Australia, while maintaining its status as a staple brand in Romanian households.
