Alcon eye care products

Alcon is a global leader in eye care, originally founded in 1945 by pharmacists Robert Alexander and William Conner as a small pharmacy in Fort Worth, Texas. The brand grew significantly through its focus on sterile ophthalmic solutions, leading to its acquisition by Nestlé in 1977. Under Nestlé, Alcon expanded its manufacturing and research footprint into South America and Europe.

In 2011, Alcon became a subsidiary of the Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis. However, in April 2019, Novartis spun Alcon off into a fully independent, publicly traded company. Today, Alcon operates as a standalone entity with a dual presence: its global corporate headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland, while its main operational and research base remains in Fort Worth, Texas.

Manufacturing is highly diversified to serve 180 markets. Key production facilities are located in the United States (such as Johns Creek, Georgia and Huntington, West Virginia), Switzerland, Singapore, Belgium, and Germany. The brand produces a wide range of products including DAILIES contact lenses, Opti-Free solutions, and advanced surgical equipment for cataract and LASIK procedures.
