Pukka Herbs organic tea

Pukka Herbs was founded in 2001 by Sebastian Pole and Tim Westwell in Bristol, United Kingdom. The brand focuses on organic herbal teas and supplements rooted in Ayurvedic principles, with its name 'Pukka' derived from the Hindi word for 'authentic' or 'genuine.'

While the organic herbs and ingredients are ethically sourced from over 50 countries globally—including India, Vietnam, and various nations across Africa and Europe—the final blending, manufacturing, and packaging of the tea bags typically occur in the United Kingdom.

In 2017, the brand was acquired by Unilever. However, as part of a major corporate restructuring in 2021, Unilever spun off its tea division into a standalone entity called ekaterra. In 2022, ekaterra was sold to the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners and subsequently rebranded as Lipton Teas and Infusions, which remains the ultimate owner of the brand as of 2026.
