Weber Spirit II E-310 Gas Grill

Weber-Stephen Products is an American manufacturer of charcoal, gas, and electric outdoor grills. The brand’s history dates back to 1952 when George Stephen Sr., an employee at Weber Brothers Metal Works, invented the iconic kettle grill by cutting a metal buoy in half to create a dome-shaped cooker with a lid. This design revolutionized backyard cooking by providing better temperature control and preventing flare-ups. In 1985, the company expanded its legacy by introducing the Genesis gas grill, which became a benchmark for modern outdoor cooking.

While Weber historically manufactured all products in its Illinois facilities, it now utilizes a global supply chain. The Spirit II series, which includes the E-310 model shown, is exclusively manufactured in China. Other premium models like the Genesis and Summit series are often assembled in the USA at facilities in Palatine and Huntley, Illinois, though they incorporate globally sourced components from China and Taiwan. This global manufacturing strategy allows Weber to maintain a wide distribution network while centralizing its engineering and design in the United States.

In terms of ownership, the company remained family-held until 2010 when BDT Capital Partners acquired a majority stake. Following a brief period as a publicly traded company on the NYSE from 2021 to 2023, Weber was taken private again by BDT Capital Partners. In early 2025, Weber merged with Blackstone Products to form a new larger entity, Weber Blackstone, aimed at dominating both the grill and griddle markets for 2026 and beyond.
