Levington Garden Care

Levington is a storied name in the British gardening industry, recognized for its high-quality composts, plant foods, and growing media. The brand traces its origins back to the 1960s, specifically 1967, when it was established as part of the Fisons group in Levington, Suffolk. It pioneered research-based peat substrates, becoming a staple for both professional growers and home gardeners in the UK and Ireland.

For many years, Levington was part of the Scotts Miracle-Gro portfolio after being acquired in 1997. However, in 2017, Scotts Miracle-Gro sold its international (non-North American) operations to Exponent Private Equity. This led to the formation of Evergreen Garden Care, which now serves as the parent company for Levington and other major brands like Miracle-Gro (outside North America) and Tomorite. Today, Levington products are manufactured primarily at state-of-the-art facilities in the United Kingdom, including production sites in Scotland and Northern Ireland, utilizing both peat-based and increasingly peat-free sustainable materials.
