Ungaro (more specifically, Emanuel Ungaro) is a legendary French fashion house headquartered in Paris. Founded in 1965 by Emanuel Ungaro—who famously trained under Cristóbal Balenciaga—the brand became world-renowned for its 'Space Age' aesthetic and its masterful use of vibrant colors and bold, contrasting floral prints. Originally a family-owned couture house, the brand was partially sold to the Ferragamo group in 1996. In late 2025, reports emerged that celebrity stylist Law Roach led an investor group to acquire a majority stake in the legendary maison to revitalize its presence in the luxury market. While the brand is French in origin, its manufacturing is distributed globally, primarily through high-end licenses in Italy (such as TOMA Italian Brands for menswear and various luxury textile partners for fabrics) and other international production hubs.
