Villacher Märzen beer

Villacher Märzen is a flagship product of the Villacher Brauerei, a historic Austrian brewery founded in 1858 by Johann Fischer. The brand is deeply rooted in the Carinthia region, where it has long been the market leader. Although traditionally brewed in the city of Villach, recent restructuring has seen a portion of its production relocated to other facilities within the owner's network, specifically to Graz.

Since 2014, the brand has been under the ownership of Brau Union Österreich AG, which is the largest brewing group in Austria. In turn, Brau Union is a subsidiary of the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. This ownership structure places Villacher within a global portfolio while maintaining its identity as a traditional Austrian Alpine beer known for its balanced maltiness and light hop character.
