KitchenAid is one of the most iconic American appliance brands, best known for its legendary stand mixers which have been produced in Greenville, Ohio, since 1941. The brand was established in 1919 by the Hobart Manufacturing Company, following the success of commercial mixers used by the U.S. Navy. The name itself originated from a home tester who called the device the 'best kitchen aid' she had ever had.

In 1986, KitchenAid was acquired by the Whirlpool Corporation, which expanded the brand's portfolio from small countertop gadgets to a full suite of major kitchen appliances, including refrigerators and dishwashers. While the stand mixers remain a hallmark of American assembly, the brand utilizes a global supply chain. Major appliances like dishwashers and ovens are concentrated in Ohio and Tennessee, while some smaller electronics and replacement parts are manufactured in facilities across China, Mexico, and India.
