Norco Bicycles is a prominent Canadian brand that has been a fixture in the cycling world since 1964. Founded by Bert Lewis in British Columbia, the company originally began operations as Northern Cycle Industries inside a converted chicken coop. Over the decades, it evolved into a global powerhouse, known for its innovation in mountain bike geometry and for being one of the first North American companies to embrace the emerging mountain bike and BMX scenes in the 1970s and 80s.

While the brand is deeply rooted in the rugged terrain of the Pacific Northwest, most of its manufacturing takes place in Asia, specifically in Taiwan and Vietnam, to leverage high-tech production facilities for specialized frame materials like carbon fiber and aluminum. Design, engineering, and testing continue to be conducted at its headquarters in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, ensuring the bikes remain suited for the challenging trails they were originally built for.

In terms of ownership, the brand experienced a significant transition in July 2024. After 60 years of partnership between the founding Lewis family and the Zalkow family, the Lewis family assumed full ownership of Live to Play Sports Group Inc., the parent company of Norco. This move solidified the brand's status as a family-owned Canadian business committed to the legacy of its founder.
