Café Noir Instant Original coffee

Café Noir is a coffee brand that originated in France in the late 1970s. It was specifically developed as a high-end, pure Arabica coffee brand by René Monnier, the founder of the French company Grand'Mère. The brand quickly became known for its premium positioning and iconic black and gold packaging.

Over the decades, the ownership of Café Noir has transitioned through several major food and beverage conglomerates. It was acquired by Jacobs Suchard in 1982, which later became part of Kraft Foods (now Mondelēz International). In 2015, following the merger of the coffee businesses of Mondelēz International and D.E Master Blenders 1753, the brand became part of the Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) portfolio. Today, it is under the ultimate ownership of JDE Peet's, a global coffee and tea giant headquartered in the Netherlands and majority-controlled by JAB Holding Company. Manufacturing takes place across various JDE production facilities worldwide, with significant production hubs in Europe to serve its primary markets.
