The product is a suede jacket from the brand BOSS, a core label of the German luxury fashion house Hugo Boss. The brand was founded in 1924 by Hugo Ferdinand Boss in Metzingen, Germany. Originally a manufacturer of workwear and uniforms, the company pivoted to high-end menswear and suits in the post-WWII era under the leadership of the founder's son-in-law, Eugen Holy.

Today, Hugo Boss AG is a publicly traded company on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. While it has a high free float, significant stakes are held by institutional investors. Notably, as of recent years, the British Frasers Group (controlled by Mike Ashley) has emerged as a major shareholder, alongside the Marzotto family.

Manufacturing for BOSS products is global.
