Yomo is a historic Italian yogurt brand that revolutionized the dairy market in Italy when it was founded in 1947 by Dr. Leo Vesely. The name 'Yomo' is a portmanteau of 'Yogurt' and 'Homogenous,' reflecting the brand's pioneering process of creating a smooth, creamy texture that differed from the irregular fermented milks of the time. Originally established as Sitia-YOMO SpA in Milan, it became the first brand to distribute industrial creamy yogurt in pots to general dairy shops rather than pharmacies.

In 2004, the brand was acquired by the Granarolo Group, Italy's leading milk and dairy company. Today, Yomo continues to emphasize its Italian heritage, using 100% Italian milk sourced from the Granarolo supply chain. The product is primarily manufactured at the Granarolo facility in Vernate, Milan. In recent years, the brand has focused on sustainability by transitioning its packaging from plastic to recyclable paper jars, aiming to convert over 165 million units annually.
