Cube Bikes is a prominent German bicycle brand that has evolved from a small student project into one of Europe's largest bicycle manufacturers. Founded in 1993 by Marcus Pürner in the Bavarian town of Waldershof, the company initially operated out of a small corner of his father's furniture factory. Today, Cube remains an owner-managed, private company, which allows it to maintain a long-term focus on innovation and quality without the pressures of external shareholders.
While the brand is deeply rooted in German engineering and design, its manufacturing process involves a global supply chain. Most bicycle frames and many components are manufactured in Asia (specifically in countries like Taiwan and Cambodia), a common practice in the industry to leverage specialized expertise. However, Cube distinguishes itself by performing the final assembly of the majority of its bikes at its massive, state-of-the-art facility in Waldershof, Germany. This 'Designed and Engineered in Germany' approach ensures that every mountain, road, and e-bike meets rigorous testing standards before being distributed to over 60 countries worldwide.
