Strongbow is a world-renowned dry cider that originated in the United Kingdom in 1960. It was launched by the company H.P. Bulmer and named after the Anglo-Norman knight Richard de Clare, whose nickname was 'Strongbow'. The brand has grown to become the world's leading cider name, available in dozens of countries worldwide.

Historically, the brand was part of the Bulmer family business before being acquired by Scottish & Newcastle in 2003. Ownership eventually transitioned to the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. in 2008. While Hereford, England remains the traditional heart of production where local bittersweet apples are processed, the product is manufactured in multiple countries to meet global demand, including Belgium, Australia, and South Africa. In Australia, the brand was reunited with the global Heineken portfolio in 2021 after years of separate regional ownership.
