Ledlenser portable lighting

Ledlenser was founded in 1993 by twin brothers Harald and Rainer Opolka in a garage in Germany with very limited capital. The company quickly became a pioneer in the LED lighting industry by introducing high-performance LED flashlights at a time when traditional bulbs were the standard.

Today, while the brand maintains its soul and innovation center in Solingen, Germany—where all research, design, and engineering take place—the physical manufacturing of its products has been centralized in its own 100% subsidiary production facility in Yangjiang, China, since 2005. This allows the brand to maintain strict German quality standards while utilizing efficient large-scale production. Ownership has transitioned from the founders to the Leatherman Tool Group in 2011, and subsequently in 2018 to the German and Swiss investment firms AFINUM and INVISION, along with the company's management team.
