eeBoo is a prominent specialty toy and game company founded in 1994 by Mia Galison in New York City. The brand was established with a focus on 'developing the whole child' through beautifully illustrated products that encourage creative thinking, literacy, and social-emotional skills without the use of digital screens. The brand's name, 'eeBoo,' is a phonetic play on 'hibou,' the French word for owl, a nickname given to the founder by her grandmother.

From its inception, eeBoo has been a woman-owned and mother-run enterprise, famously starting in Galison’s basement while she raised her three children. This ethos of intergenerational play and family-centric values remains at the core of the brand. While the design and conceptualization happen in the United States, manufacturing has been outsourced to ethical and high-quality printing facilities in China for over 30 years. Ownership of the brand remains independent, held by the founder and her family. In 2017, the company expanded its lifestyle appeal by launching 'Piece & Love,' a sub-brand dedicated to high-piece-count puzzles for adults, which features the same signature artistic aesthetic and commitment to sustainability (using recycled board and vegetable inks) that the brand is known for globally.
