Picard Surgelés is a premier French retailer and manufacturer specializing in high-quality frozen food products. The company's history dates back to 1906, when Raymond Picard founded 'Les Glacières de Fontainebleau' as an ice-delivery business. Following its acquisition by Armand Decelle in 1973, the brand pivoted toward specialized frozen food retail, opening its first store in Paris in 1974. Today, Picard is a dominant force in the French market, operating nearly 1,000 stores and enjoying a reputation for gourmet innovation and strict quality standards.

While Picard acts as a retailer, it maintains close control over its supply chain, with approximately 70% of its products manufactured by French suppliers using local raw materials. For products requiring specific ingredients not native to France, the brand sources globally. Ownership of the company has seen several transitions between private equity firms and strategic investors. Currently, the Tunisian family-led investment group, Groupe Zouari, holds a controlling stake and is set to become the sole owner by 2025/2026 after acquiring the remaining interests from Lion Capital and Aryzta.
