Podravka Food Products

Podravka is a renowned Croatian food brand that trace its roots back to 1934, when the brothers Marijan and Matija Wolf established a fruit processing workshop in Koprivnica. The company was nationalized in 1947 and received its current name, which refers to a female inhabitant of the Podravina region. It became a global household name following the invention of 'Vegeta' in 1959, an all-purpose food seasoning that remains its most famous product and is sold in over 60 countries.

Today, Podravka is one of the largest food companies in Southeast Europe. While its historical and spiritual home remains in Koprivnica, Croatia—where it operates major manufacturing complexes—the company has expanded its production footprint with facilities in countries such as Poland to support its international distribution. The brand encompasses a wide range of categories including soups, baby food (Lino), condiments, and canned goods (Eva).

Since 1993, Podravka has operated as a joint-stock company. It is listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange and is not owned by a single global conglomerate, maintaining its status as an independent Croatian entity. Ownership is distributed among various institutional investors, including pension funds and the Croatian state, ensuring it remains a central pillar of the Croatian economy into 2026 and beyond.
