Favarger is a historic Swiss chocolatier with a legacy stretching back over two centuries. Founded in 1826 by Jacques Foulquier in Geneva, the company is recognized as one of the oldest chocolate manufacturers in Switzerland. The 'Avelines' line, featured in the image, was first introduced in 1922 and has since become one of the brand's most iconic products, celebrated for its blend of milk and dark chocolate with praline, hazelnuts, and almonds.

While the Favarger family maintained control for generations, ownership transitioned in 2003 when investor Luka Rajic acquired a majority stake. In early 2022, the brand entered a new chapter when Maestrani Swiss Chocolate Ltd acquired the 'Favarger' brand and its Avelines business. Despite these changes in ownership, the manufacturing remains rooted in its traditional home of Versoix, near Geneva, maintaining its reputation for high-quality, Swiss-made artisanal chocolate.
