Aberfeldy 12 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Aberfeldy 12 Year Old is a premium Highland single malt Scotch whisky, often referred to as 'The Golden Dram.' The brand's history is deeply intertwined with the Dewar family; the distillery was founded in 1896 by John Alexander and Tommy Dewar, sons of the legendary blender John Dewar. It began production in 1898 in Aberfeldy, Perthshire, primarily to supply the core malt for the Dewar's blended whisky line.

The distillery draws its water from the Pitilie Burn, which is historically famous for deposits of alluvial gold. While the distillery has remained at its original location for over a century, its parent company, John Dewar & Sons, has seen several owners, including Distillers Company Ltd (DCL) and Diageo. Since 1998, the brand has been owned by the global spirits giant Bacardi, which has since focused on establishing Aberfeldy as a standalone world-class single malt brand.
