B+W camera filters

B+W is a world-renowned manufacturer of high-precision optical filters and photography accessories. The brand was established in July 1947 by Walter Biermann and Johannes Weber in Berlin, taking its name from the first initials of their last surnames. From its inception, the company focused on extreme precision, verifying every filter with interferometers to ensure optical flatness and quality.

In 1985, B+W merged with the legendary German optics manufacturer Jos. Schneider Optische Werke GmbH, commonly known as Schneider-Kreuznach. This partnership allowed B+W to access premium optical glass from Schott and integrate advanced technologies like Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) and the highly regarded Käsemann polarization technology. Today, all B+W filters are still manufactured in Germany at the Schneider-Kreuznach facility in Bad Kreuznach.

Under the ownership of the Schneider Group, B+W continues to be a leader in the photography industry, catering to professional photographers and enthusiasts who require top-tier glass and brass housing for their lenses.
