Rossana l'originale candy

Rossana is one of Italy's most iconic confectionery brands, famously known as the 'Lady in Red' due to its characteristic ruby-red wrapping. The candy was originally created in 1926 by Luisa Spagnoli, the legendary entrepreneur who also founded Perugina and the homonymous fashion house. It was named after Roxanne, the beloved character from Cyrano de Bergerac.

For decades, the brand was part of the Perugina portfolio and later became part of the Nestlé group when the Swiss multinational acquired Perugina in 1988. In 2016, Nestlé sold several of its Italian candy brands, including Rossana, to Fida S.p.A., a 100% Italian confectionery specialist founded in 1973. Following the acquisition, production was moved from Perugia to Fida's specialized plant in Castagnole delle Lanze, Piedmont, where it continues to be manufactured today using traditional methods.
