Eberswalder Würstchen

The product belongs to the 'Eberswalder' brand, which has a long history in East Germany, originating from the Schlacht- und Verarbeitungskombinat Eberswalde (SVKE) founded in 1977 in Britz. This facility was once the largest meat processing plant in Europe.

Historically, the brand was produced at the facility in Britz (Joachimsthaler Str. 100, 16230 Britz), as indicated by the address on the packaging. However, recent corporate shifts have seen the brand change ownership. Since June 2023, the brand and the manufacturing operations have been owned by the Zur Mühlen Group, which is a subsidiary of the Premium Food Group, ultimately owned by the Tönnies Holding.

Due to economic restructuring including rising costs and declining sales, the historic manufacturing site in Britz was officially closed at the end of February 2026. Production for Eberswalder products has since been relocated to other sites within the Zur Mühlen Group's network in Germany, specifically to locations such as Chemnitz, Suhl, or Zerbst.
