Campa is an iconic Indian beverage brand that has seen a significant resurgence in recent years. Originally launched in 1977 by the Pure Drinks Group, it was born out of a period when multinational giants like Coca-Cola were forced to exit the Indian market due to regulatory policies. During the 1970s and 1980s, Campa (particularly its Campa Cola variant) dominated the domestic market, positioning itself as 'The Great Indian Taste.' However, the brand's popularity waned significantly following the economic liberalization of the 1990s and the re-entry of global competitors.
In August 2022, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), through its subsidiary Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, acquired the brand for approximately ₹22 crore. Since then, RIL has strategically relaunched it to compete with modern global beverage companies. As of 2026, the brand is produced at multiple state-of-the-art facilities across India, including significant bottling operations in Assam and Bihar, ensuring wide availability through Reliance’s extensive retail and distribution network.
