The Triumph Tiger is an iconic adventure motorcycle series produced by Triumph Motorcycles Ltd, a brand with a legacy dating back to 1902. Originally founded in Coventry, England, the brand underwent a significant resurgence in the 1980s under new ownership.
Today, the manufacturing of the Triumph Tiger is a global operation. While the company is headquartered in Hinckley, United Kingdom, where design, prototyping, and engineering occur alongside some final assembly, a substantial volume of production is centered in Chonburi, Thailand. Additionally, the company operates assembly facilities in Manaus, Brazil, and has partnered with Bajaj Auto in India for newer, specialized models. Generally, new major models begin production in the UK before being transitioned to the high-capacity Thai factories for global distribution.
Since 1983, the brand has been privately held by Bloor Holdings Limited, owned by British entrepreneur John Bloor. This ownership structure has allowed Triumph to maintain its status as the largest British-owned motorcycle manufacturer, successfully competing on a global stage with a diverse lineup that includes the Tiger Sport 660, Tiger 900, and Tiger 1200.
