Dr. Oetker is a 100% family-owned German multinational with a history dating back to 1891, when it was founded by pharmacist Dr. August Oetker in Bielefeld. In late 2021, the Oetker Group underwent a major strategic split into two independent entities. The core food business, including the Dr. Oetker brand, remains under the ownership of Dr. August Oetker KG, which is controlled by the heirs of Rudolf-August Oetker and is headquartered in Germany.
