Bahlsen Comtess Marmor is a classic marble cake produced by Bahlsen, a prestigious German family-owned company with a history dating back to 1889. The brand was founded by Hermann Bahlsen in Hanover, Germany, originally under the name 'Hannoversche Cakesfabrik'. For over 130 years, Bahlsen has been a pioneer in the European biscuit and cake industry, notably introducing the first assembly line production in Europe in 1905.

Today, the brand remains under the private ownership of the Bahlsen family, now in its fourth generation. While the brand is quintessentially German, Bahlsen operates five production facilities across Europe, including major sites in Hanover, Barsinghausen, and Berlin (Germany), as well as Skawina and Jawornik (Poland).
