The distinctive logo, featuring a lady riding two dragons, was inspired by a tattoo catalog, and the name 'Wendjoe' was inspired by a traditional Chinese ship.

Today, Wendjoe operates from a large manufacturing facility in Waspik, Netherlands. The brand underwent a significant transition when it was acquired by the Go family, the owners of Go-Tan, another major player in the European market for Asian food products. This acquisition brought Wendjoe under the umbrella of Go-Tan's corporate structure, while maintaining its reputation for authentic flavors and high-quality production within the Netherlands.
