Aliments du Québec is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 by members of the Québec agri-food industry. It is the leading organization dedicated to identifying and promoting food products originating from the province of Québec, Canada. Rather than being a single product, it acts as a certification body that grants specific logos (Aliments du Québec, Aliments préparés au Québec, and their organic variations) to verified products that meet strict criteria regarding local sourcing and processing.
To carry the primary 'Aliments du Québec' seal, a product must generally be composed of a minimum of 85% ingredients sourced from Québec, with all processing and packaging activities conducted within the province. The organization is governed by a board representing various sectors of the agri-food industry and works in close partnership with the Government of Québec. Today, it oversees more than 25,000 verified products from over 1,700 member companies, serving as a trusted reference for consumers looking to support the local economy and reduce their environmental footprint through local consumption.
