Saimaza Mezcla ground coffee

Saimaza is a historic Spanish coffee brand with roots dating back to 1908, when it was founded by Joaquín Sainz de la Maza in Seville. Originally starting as a small local establishment, it grew rapidly to become one of Spain's leading coffee importers and roasters. For decades, it operated its landmark production facility in Dos Hermanas, Seville, which was a hub for Spanish coffee culture.

In recent years, the brand's ownership has transitioned through major international conglomerates. Following a joint venture with General Foods in the 1980s, it eventually became part of the portfolio of Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE). Recent industrial shifts saw the Dos Hermanas factory change hands, but the brand remains a staple in the Spanish market. In late 2024 and heading into 2026, a significant corporate movement occurred as Keurig Dr Pepper acquired a controlling stake or significant portion of JDE Peet’s, the parent company of Saimaza, consolidating its position under American ultimate ownership while maintaining its deep-rooted identity as 'the coffee for true coffee lovers' in Spain.
