Born Feinkost is a historic German food brand with roots stretching back to 1820. Founded by the brothers Wilhelm and Luis Born in Erfurt, the company initially produced mustard and vinegar. For over 150 years, it remained a family-owned enterprise until it was nationalized by the East German (GDR) government in the 1970s. Following the reunification of Germany, the company returned to private ownership in 1990.

Today, Born is a regional staple in Thuringia, particularly famous for its mustard, which is the traditional accompaniment for the Thüringer Bratwurst. The brand maintains a strong cultural presence in Erfurt, where it operates a museum and specialty shop. While the company has expanded its range to include ketchup, mayonnaise, and sauces, it remains deeply tied to its original manufacturing site in Erfurt, Germany, preserving its heritage as a classic Central German brand.
