DSB Train Service

DSB (Danske Statsbaner) is the primary train operator in Denmark, established as a state-owned enterprise. It provides extensive passenger rail services across the country, including the S-train commuter network in Copenhagen and regional and InterCity connections nationwide.

Originally formed in 1885 through the merger of several state-owned regional railways, DSB transitioned into an independent public corporation in 1999. It remains 100% owned by the Danish Ministry of Transport. While it operates on a commercial basis for profit, it fulfills public service obligations under contract with the Danish government to ensure reliable transport infrastructure across Scandinavia.
