Milwaukee Tool, officially the Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation, has a storied history that began in 1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founded by A.F. Siebert around the 'Hole-Shooter'—the first lightweight, one-handed heavy-duty drill—the brand quickly became a staple for professional tradespeople. Over the decades, it pioneered several industry milestones, including the invention of the Sawzall reciprocating saw in 1951 and leading the shift toward lithium-ion battery technology in power tools during the early 2000s.

Today, Milwaukee is a global brand with a manufacturing footprint that spans the United States, China, Vietnam, Mexico, and Germany. While many of its core cordless products are manufactured in Asia to leverage high-tech supply chains, the company has significantly expanded its U.S. operations. This includes major manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin and Mississippi for hand tools, accessories, and specialized equipment.

Since 2005, Milwaukee Tool has been a subsidiary of Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd (TTI), a multinational conglomerate headquartered in Hong Kong. Under TTI's ownership, Milwaukee has transformed into a high-tech powerhouse focused on 'disruptive innovation' for professional users in the plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trades. Despite its global ownership and production, the brand maintains its global headquarters and primary research and development hub in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
