Senseo is a globally recognized coffee brewing system that was originally co-developed by the Dutch tech giant Philips and the historic coffee company Douwe Egberts. Launched in the Netherlands in 2001, the system revolutionized home coffee preparation by introducing consistent, single-serve coffee 'pads' that produce a characteristic crema layer.

Today, the Senseo brand is part of the JDE Peet's portfolio, following a series of corporate acquisitions and spin-offs involving Sara Lee Corp and Mondelez. Most recently, following the acquisition of JDE Peet's in late 2024/2025, the ultimate owner of the brand is Keurig Dr Pepper, headquartered in the United States. While the manufacturing of the coffee pads occurs in various facilities primarily across Europe—including the Netherlands and Germany—the brand remains a cornerstone of Dutch coffee culture and innovation.
