WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) is a legendary German brand founded in 1853 by Daniel Straub and the Schweizer brothers in Geislingen an der Steige. Originally established as a metal repair shop, it grew into one of the world's most prestigious manufacturers of kitchenware, tableware, and professional coffee machines. The WMF egg piercer, part of the 'Clever & More' collection, is a specialized kitchen tool crafted from WMF's signature Cromargan® stainless steel (18/10), designed to prevent eggshells from cracking during the boiling process.
While WMF produces several premium lines, such as specific knives and high-end cookware, directly in Germany, many of its smaller kitchen gadgets and accessory items are manufactured globally to optimize production. Since 2016, WMF has been a key brand within the French consortium Groupe SEB. This acquisition integrated WMF into a global network that includes other famous brands like Tefal and Krups, though WMF maintains its identity as a premium German engineering hub within the group.
