Diplomático Single Vintage 2008 Rum

Diplomático Single Vintage 2008 is a super-premium Venezuelan rum produced at the Destilerías Unidas S.A. (DUSA) distillery. Located at the foot of the Andes Mountains, the distillery benefits from a unique microclimate and pure water sources which contribute to the rum's distinct character. This specific expression is crafted from rums distilled in 2008, aged for approximately 12 years in bourbon and malt whisky casks, and finished in Spanish sherry casks for added complexity.

The brand's history dates back to 1959 when the distillery was established by Licorerías Unidas S.A. (LUSA), with Seagram's International as a major shareholder. In 2002, the company was acquired by a group of Venezuelan entrepreneurs and renamed Destilerías Unidas S.A. (DUSA). In early 2023, the global beverage giant Brown-Forman Corporation completed the acquisition of the Diplomático brand to expand its super-premium spirits portfolio. While the brand is now owned by a U.S.-based corporation, the production continues to take place in Venezuela to maintain its Protected Denomination of Origin (Ron de Venezuela DOC) status.
