Stanhome home and personal care products

Stanhome was founded in 1931 in the United States by Frank Stanley Beveridge and Catherine O'Brien. Originally established as Stanley Home Products in Westfield, Massachusetts, the company pioneered the direct selling model, famously known as the 'Hostess Plan' or party plan. This revolutionary approach allowed the brand to grow rapidly during the Great Depression by empowering independent sales representatives to sell high-quality concentrated household cleaners and personal care items directly to consumers at home.

In 1997, the brand was acquired by the French multinational Groupe Rocher (formerly Group Yves Rocher). Under French ownership, Stanhome shifted its operational focus toward Europe and Latin America. As of 2026, Groupe Rocher remains the parent company, although it has announced strategic plans to divest the brand to focus exclusively on its core beauty and botanical skincare business. Currently, manufacturing is highly centralized in France, where approximately 97% of its family care products are produced within Groupe Rocher’s industrial facilities, while its home care items are manufactured across various European sites to ensure high quality and environmental standards.
