Although the product is marketed as 'Irish Butter' (frequently identified by its 'Burro Irlandese' labeling in Italy), its manufacturing and packaging processes typically take place in Germany (Deutschland) using high-quality Irish cream.

The brand was developed as a competitive alternative to premium Irish dairy brands like Kerrygold. It is produced and distributed by Fude + Serrahn Milchprodukte, a major German dairy trading company founded in 2001 and headquartered in Hamburg. The raw ingredients, specifically the milk-fat, are sourced from Ireland, taking advantage of the country's pasture-based dairy farming systems which produce milk naturally rich in beta-carotene. Today, it remains a staple private-label premium offering within Lidl's dairy portfolio across Europe.
