Brunata is a prominent Danish-born brand specializing in heat cost allocators and energy metering solutions. Founded in Denmark in 1917 as Constantin Brun A/S, the company pioneered systems for fair heat cost allocation in residential buildings. In 1950, it merged with the Swiss firm ATA to form the modern 'Brunata' name, a portmanteau of the two original entities.
While the brand maintains deep Danish roots and its international headquarters in Herlev near Copenhagen, it was acquired in 2018 by the German family-owned company Minol. Today, Brunata operates as a key technological pillar within the Brunata-Minol-Zenner Group. Manufacturing is largely centralized through the group's German sister company, ZENNER, which produces measurement technology for global markets, although the group maintains a production and service presence across more than 17 European countries. The brand has transitioned from traditional mechanical meters to advanced IoT-connected electronic devices like the Minometer M8, which utilize wireless technology for remote consumption monitoring.
